60 Great Short Walks Tasmania Australia - National Parks and World Heritage SitesThe delightful Hogarth Falls are in People’s Park in the township of Strahan, 36km from Queenstown on the northern shore of Macquarie Harbour. The park is situated off the esplanade midway between the Strahan Wharf and Regatta Point on the shores of the harbour.

The Hogarth Falls walk is a relatively short one of 1.2km (one way). It is graded at Level 2, which means that it is considered an easy walk suitable for most levels of fitness. Note that level 2 tracks generally have occasional steps and formed gravel or hardened surface.

Walkers should ensure that they have sturdy walking shoes or boots plus a sun hat, sun block, sunglasses and clothes suited to the weather conditions on the day.

Walkers should allow 40-50 minutes for the return walk. This time is calculated on maintaining an easy, comfortable pace. It naturally does not take into account time spent resting, picnicking or of course taking photographs of the falls and park surrounds. Do remember your camera.

Firearms and bicycles are prohibited. Dogs are allowed on the track providing they are on a leash.

Park entry fees DO NOT apply.

Facilities:
There are toilets at the start of the track.

Vehicle Access:
To get to Srahan drive north on the Lyell Highway (A10) and turn left onto the Lyell Highway extension (B24) for Strahan 36km away. You can drive to the park and the beginning of the track via the Strahan esplanade or walk there along the foreshore walking track.
